Spring is a time to celebrate new beginnings and new beauty trends. The darker and dazzling winter styles are being replaced with cotton candy colored hair, jewel-toned shadows and bold lip looks. Manolo of Manolo Salons describes this spring’s beauty trends as lively and lovely. “Spring is a time to start anew and to be playful, even with your makeup,” he said. “Try new colors for your eyes; find that perfect shade of red lipstick; and enjoy the ease of the natural hairstyles of the moment.”
EYES – High-impact shadows in magenta, emerald and bright blue hues, full brows and feminine lashes bring focus to the eyes. This spring is the perfect time to get creative with colored eyeliners and jeweled lids.
“This beauty look is especially about making a statement with your eyes,” Manolo said. “Dark liner rimmed eyes, a great volumizing mascara and thick eyebrows make a big impact when applied correctly.”
The new runway looks at New York’s Fashion Week heavily emphasized the eyes with liner-rimmed eyes, prominent brows and extra long, unapologetically false lashes. While eyebrow shapes come and go as far as trends, bold brows remain classic. A filled-in brow looks great either as a contrast to softer makeup or paired with a bolder beauty looks. Full, fluttery, feminine eyelashes open the eyes and enhance your overall makeup look.
LIPS – Make the most of your mouth with fruit-punch colored lips. Matte-finish lip colors in bright red, coral and pink are popular this spring and make for a fun, playful pout.
NAILS – Pair the eye-popping color on your face with a neutral, nude-colored nail or a crisp white manicure. Beige, pale pink and tan are great for a subdued nail color.
Manolo Salons nail technician Myrian Banda offers customers a selection of more than 200 OPI colors for manicures and pedicures. For a neutral-but-shimmery shade that jives with this seasons natural nails, Myrian recommends Sand in my Suit nail lacquer from OPI’s spring collection.
HAIR – This spring’s hair trends include low, messy buns and ponytails, dual-textured hair and colorful highlights. Think modern minimalism. For a low maintenance look, try naturally enhanced texture or “bed head” purposely-messy hairstyles.
